In the first class on the afternoon of 21st March, 2017, in Class 2, Grade 8, Anqing Foreign Language School’s teacher Zhang Yan with the Junior High Department showcased a demonstration lesson. In attendance were President Madam Huang Wenli and all English teachers from the Junior High Section of the east campus. Afterwards, the lesson evaluation session was conducted and chaired by teacher Zhu Renge.
First of all, the content of the public class was Unit 4 ‘Why Don’t You Talk To Your Friends?’ in ‘Go For It’ Volume Two, which was featured in multimedia, pictures, pair work, role play and panel discussion. Zhang Yan gave full play to her capacity and speciality, meticulously conducting her teaching design from courseware making, blackboard display, classroom activities to key& difficult point learning. What’s more, with all her students’ active involvement, the instructional objectives were easily achieved.
Second of all, during the lesson evaluation session, all teachers with the English Teaching& Research Group highly praised the demonstration lesson. To begin with, Zhu Renge conveyed the comments from President Madam Huang Wenli who pointed out the shining points of the open class as well as some proposals. Additionally, all English teachers from the Junior High Division proceeded group discussion in Grade 7,8&9 respectively. Each and every one spoke frankly and sincerely, which not only exhibited teachers’ lecture attending levels, but also manifested the harmonious atmosphere among teachers in the English Teaching& Research Group, whose spirit of mutual help and solidarity benefited teacher Zhang Yan a lot in the meantime.
In summary, not only did this informative event construct a stage for young teachers to steel, temper themselves through practice and display their talent, but also provided a platform for teachers in each group to study and exchange. The promotion of faculty construction based on teachers’ development shall better enable Anqing Foreign Language School to boost the education teaching quality and create another glory.
